John holds an Advanced Certificate from BKS Iyengar. John is a member of the Senior Assessment Committee in Australia and has held numerous committee positions in the Iyengar Association in Australia and chaired many assessments in Australia and New Zealand
John began practising Iyengar yoga in 1973 and attended the Institute in Pune India for the first time in 1977 John has attended numerous Intensives in Pune since that time including the Backbend Intensive in 1991, Pranayama course in 1995, Jubilee teachers Intensive 2000, Rishikesh India1995 and has assisted Guruji Geeta in Pune and on their tours in Australia and New Zealand.
John is a Registered Osteopath and was President of the Western Australian of the Australian Osteopathic Association branch for five year helping to achieve statutory registration of the Osteopathic profession.
John runs an Osteopathic Clinic in Perth and Fremantle and is interested in the therapeutic approaches of manual therapy of osteopathy and also the psycho/ spiritual and physiological approach of asana and pranayama in relation to the traditional yoga treatise? of Patanjali Classical Yoga? as taught by the Iyengar family
John is running regular workshop throughout Australia, New Zealand and USA and has taught? in the Iyengar Institute in London UK. John has been running annual residential retreats in Bali Indonesia for the last ten years where he occasionally pursues his interest of surfboard riding in the? tropical aquatics. |
